HBA St. Louis chapter event on healthcare reform draws large audience

The HBA St. Louis chapter held its first event of the year on January 15th, 2013 at the Missouri Athletic Club in Town and Country, MO. The event drew a large crowd, as the speakers and moderator were all nationally know experts in the field of healthcare reform and its impact at the state and national level. David Merritt described the changes anticipated in Missouri, and the effect on healthcare budgets at an institutional level. Julie Eckstein described the work her firm is doing to help businesses prepare for the new healthcare environment. Other speakers on the panel included Ryan Barker and Dixie Platt, who described their roles in public policy and healthcare advocacy, on behalf of patients and the greater public. Stay tuned for the next healthcare legislation event in St. Louis in April, when Rita Numeroff describes the advent of consumer driven healthcare and its impact on healthcare reform.
