Welcome from NY/NJ Regional chair

Dear HBA members,
We are excited to have moved this year into a brand new structure - one designed to better serve you: our members, volunteers and corporate partners.
The HBA Metro chapter is now the NY/NJ region of the HBA. The NY/NJ region consists of 3 chapters:

-       New York (Manhattan, southern NY state and currently serving Fairfield County, CT)
-       Northern New Jersey (Warren, Morris, Union counties and north)
-       Central New Jersey (Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex counties and south)
Structurally, there is now a regional council, of which I am the chair, consisting of regional presidents over four areas: programming, corporate partners, marketing and engagement who are responsible for providing guidance and leadership for the chapters and running regional programs. There are also chapter boards at each local level, who are responsible for programming and member/volunteer engagement in each of the three geographies.
As the new chair of the regional council of the NY/NJ region, I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself.
I have been an HBA member and volunteer for 5.5 years, having served as Director of Membership for 2 years, Treasurer for 2 years and last year President Elect. Professionally I am a consultant with Insigniam, a firm that brings breakthrough performance to individuals, teams and entire enterprises.
Personally I come from a big Irish family and am a Jersey girl, born and raised. I currently live in Freehold with my husband, in our sort of empty nest. We have a 23 year old daughter who lives and works in Washington, DC and a 19 year old son who is Freshman at The Ohio State University.
My commitment to you for 2017 is to work with my partners both on the regional council and chapter boards to provide you, our members and volunteers, with an HBA experience that supports your professional goals.

This new model is designed with you in mind. Smaller geographies allows the Chapters to focus on providing the right programming for each area. In addition, the volunteer opportunities in these areas will be smaller in scope, thereby taking less time and allowing more people to participate as volunteers - especially those who have limited time to give but want to be involved.
With the official launch of our NY/NJ regional and chapter webpages, please take a few minutes to explore. We have many upcoming events and opportunities to get involved. During this transition, please know we will still be providing all the great programs you have come to value, and we hope to add more. In addition, if you would like to volunteer on either a chapter or regional committee please let us know - we would love to have you join us!
Here’s to 2017 being our best year ever!
