2017 Women’s Healthcare Innovation and Leadership Showcase (WHILS) speakers announced

The 2017 Women’s Healthcare Innovation and Leadership Showcase (WHILS) is the third biennial signature conference presented by the HBA NY/NJ region. This year’s program will feature a range of faculty, poster presenters and exhibitors representing leading academic and provider institutions, as well as foundations, community health organizations, patient advocates and more.
The half-day conference will be kicked off by introductions from Johnson & Johnson Innovation’s Seema Kumar and Rutgers’ VP for research and economic development, Christopher Molloy, followed by an opening panel discussion led by Rutgers Women’s Health Institute director and leader in OBGYN and reproductive sciences, Gloria Bachmann, MD, also featuring:
  • Seema Kumar, VP of innovation, global health and policy communication, Johnson & Johnson
  • Saralyn Mark, MD, recent president, iGiant (impact of gender/sex on innovation and novel technologies)
  • Connie Newman, MD, president-elect, American Medical Women’s Association, and endocrinologist, physician scientist and adjunct professor at New York University (NYU) School of Medicine
Afternoon breakout sessions will allow for deeper dives into important topics with innovators and experts. The topics in session 1 include “Women’s Lifecycles,” “Harnessing Women’s Voices,” and “Big Data, AI and Wearables.” Session 2 includes “New Science for High-Impact Change,” “Provider, Academia and Industry Collaboration,” and “Wellness vs. Disease Care.” For a listing of 2017 WHILS speakers, please click here.
