HBA Philadelphia is proud to announce that Desiree Priestley has been recognized as an Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association Rising Star for her outstanding performance, leadership and commitment to excellence.
After hearing about the HBA at the 2016 MM&M Hall of Femme awards, Desiree decided to jump in and volunteer. She quickly expressed interest in having Otsuka become a corporate partner and found herself on the corporate relations committee partnering with Lisa Morris as a program manager. She spent a couple of years with the team with the personal goal of bringing the HBA to Otsuka. One of the key best-practices was to have the ambassador for an organization be an employee. That was Desiree, and with her commitment (and some executive sponsorship willing to take it forward to the U.S. leadership team), at the end of 2018 Otsuka became purple level partners and onboarded over 215 members (started with ~5).
Desiree serves on the Otsuka-HBA steering committee, operational sub-committee, and is the HBA contact for Otsuka. In the next couple of months Otsuka will start an ambassador program—with 24 individuals signed up across both field and home office teams.
When Desiree isn’t leading patient support strategy in her day job or standing up an organization within an organization, she enjoys spending time with her college sweetheart husband David, and two sons Jacob (9) and Jaxon (7). Her current hobby set includes quarantining and social distancing (like many of us)—but usually you can find her outdoors with her boys—fishing, hiking, biking, swimming, golfing and more.
Congrats, Desiree—can’t wait to see what’s next.
