Trudy Bullard

“I am excited about the 2021 HBA Annual Conference – Activate. Advocate. Achieve. – and the opportunity to assist in the creation of an inaugural Women of Color Wellness Summit.  The current state of America managing multiple pandemics of health, economics, and social injustice calls for a heightened focus on the wellness and advancement of women of color in the workplace as companies diversify their leadership teams and shift their company culture to become trailblazers in their respective industries.”

Trudy Bullard is a Dallas native and the youngest of five children. She is a first-generation college student, dean’s scholar and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising with a minor in Business Administration.   

She has been employed with Abbott Laboratories for over a decade across two divisions as a Senior Sales Consultant and twice as a Regional Sales Trainer. Trudy is currently a Senior Therapeutic Nutrition Specialist in Dallas, TX, where she educates physicians and their staff on the role nutrition plays in improving patient outcomes to help them live their lives to the fullest.    

She has received multiple awards for her leadership and sales performance including: Rookie of the Year, Top Performer and multiple President Club recognitions. As an active member of Abbott’s largest and oldest employee resource group (ERG), Women Leaders in Abbott (WLA), Trudy was selected as the Abbott corporate representative for Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) in 2015.  She has served HBA, and been recognized, in the following capacities:  

  • Founding Board Member and Director of Events and Logistics, HBA Dallas-Fort Worth chapter (2015)
    • Received the Chapter of Excellence Award (2017)
  • Founding Deputy Chair, HBA Southwest regional leadership team (2018)
    • Recognized as the Volunteer of the Month (2019)
  • HBA Southwest Regional Director, Women of Color affinity group that launched at the 2019 HBA Annual Conference
    • Awarded the Marie Curie Award for Relevancy and Innovation (2020)

In her free time, she teaches and loves to dance including swing, step, salsa and line dancing… just to name a few.

Shelina Ramnarine PhD is a Product Director Cardiovascular Payer Marketing at Janssen Pharmaceuticals. Shelina is a recognized change catalyst with proven capabilities to take innovative ideas from concept to execution. She is a collaborator and influencer with an aptitude to connect people and ideas. She has experience collaborating with technical, scientific, and commercial colleagues to drive and deliver strategic initiatives. Shelina holds a PhD in Human and Statistical Genetics from Washington University in St Louis and earned undergraduate degrees in Biology and Statistics from the University of Georgia.

Shelina is a native of Trinidad and Tobago and holds a strong value for community as a result. As a community cultivator, Shelina works to create spaces to foster dialogue and highlight different perspectives. Blending head and heart, Shelina aims to use her talent towards solving unmeet needs.
